My daughter was going through a dark period. The abandonment syndrome, which she had experienced several times, was destroying her. Strong anxiety, feeling inadequate, the fear of losing her loved ones, and aggressive behavior were preventing her from enjoying her life and her social and familial relationships. Besides that, her passive attitude toward life was an obstacle to making decisions and to thinking about the future in a constructive way. It was as if she didn’t have control of her life.

She went through the process with Elena with the typical skepticism of adolescence. Eventually, she found her condition improving. She opened up and rediscovered her true nature—affectionate, loving but not submissive.

She began to think of the future, to understand what she wants, and to make choices in the present that will enable her to realize her goals.

I am an author writing a book about women who undergo a major life transformation. To find interview subjects for my book, I've been posting ads on Craigslist. When my ads weren't getting enough responses, life coach Elena Perella, herself an interview subject for my book, came to the rescue with amazing suggestions for how to improve the copy and use more inspiring images. When I reposted my ad after implementing her suggestions, I got more replies of the kind I was seeking than I had before. Her coaching and feedback have made progress on my project go more smoothly. There is no coincidence. I grew up without emotional help from my parents. My father was afraid of life and hardly spoke and for my mother I was an exhibition item.
I loved my father and could not hurt him so I projected all my anger for not getting what she “owed” me onto her. I had no brother nor sister so I grew up on my own
with no role model nor someone I could trust. I lived my life from books. Those “heroes” were my role models. They were all non conformists so guess what happened
with me. At a young age I started drinking a bottle of wine (at least) a day and took care that this was just socially acceptable. this numbed my thought and feelings
enough to make life bearable. I found out that basically I loved people in the Greek sense of “agape” and because I never experienced family I married, was gifted with two children
and my wife met another and we divorced. In accordance with the legal customs the care for the children was entrusted to their mother.
Ten years later this happened again. Another marriage and the same consequences. This time I was mentally broken and cared about nothing and started to make
huge debts. After five years I met the women - later my third wife - who saved my life and was my partner for 15 years. Then she divorced after we raised her two children.
Gradually in this proces I found my purpose in life: A world that works for everyone. My character and purpose came together and for 15 years I made a lot of money
and donated all I did not need for my family members to people who needed it more then I did. But something was missing? Then I got into contact with Elena and spent
about a week in total with her in Teulada. She has a talent to get rid of all the bla-bla in a conversation and move straight to the bottom line.
One example was the question (with no escape): Do you love yourself? Being honest the answer was: No. In my thought system I was never welcome in this life.
Obviously that was what I lived all those years with all the “failure” as consequences. The plan I developed with Elena was “to take responsibility for my life”.
This is for me the only way I can conduct my life from behind the steering wheel instead of the rearview mirror. I quit smoking and drinking almost instantly and
got friends with myself at age 6. Together we started to stand for ourselves and became visible. Now we stand for a life that works for everyone.
I feel sorry for having wasted so much time in living the expectations of others. Thank you Elena for making me experience the deepest roots of what was
holding me back. There is not only poison in families but also in myths in our society. I decided to accept all that will cross my path and contribute with all
my given talents. I found satisfaction in my life. Wilbert.
